A huge shout-out goes out to Mr. Lee and his Grade 5/6 homeroom class for winning the #kids2030 Challenge Community Champion Award, provided by Amazon Future Engineer! The challenge this year focussed on Sustainable Development Goal #12: responsible
consumption and production.
Back in January, the class was tasked with coding an store-themed activity in Scratch. When the students checked out items from the store, the program would indicate whether or not the item had been made with plastic materials. Students then designed an alternate product that was made from something more environmentally friendly. The folks at Kids Code Jeunesse obviously loved what they saw!
Each student in the class won a $50 Amazon gift card for their efforts! Merci, Amazon!
